Hy. Dgonz, if you know of a reputable sea cargo line, let me know. I am dealing with a few, but their prices are as different from ea/other as there are kinds of dogs in the world. There is a bunch of sharks lurking around, FEDEX US is the worst, 497US$ to ship to bumpers and a grill, 14kG heavy. I will find a way, but, it is incredible how come some idiots are out there to beat the crap out of anybody.
Fedex said, 497 dollars, I said, sure, I'll meet you there at 8 am tomorrow. I bet that vampire did not sleep thinking he made the deal of the month.
Sea cargo is the best I think. Air? forget it, unless you have a money tree at home.

I just tried to contact Australian Post, seems reasonable, but I can not contact them no e/mail nor phone number(their phone number seems as strange as an address in the moon, only like three series of 2 numbers, sorry, I got to learn those Australian numbers. How do I call them from the US. My B210 can not sleep thinking it's new facelift is still down unda.

To dial numbers outside the US, first dial 011. Then dial the number. Why do you want to call them? The info is on their web site. Max package weight is 20kg, fairly small, but bumpers are too long for anyone to ship package-wise. That's why Fedex wants so much.

What is "economy shipping"?

"Economy shipping" is the least expensive option. Usually same as "ground", meaning they don't fly it in a 747. It can take weeks to arrive.

I checked prices of medium size packages (44 pounds) and the prices varied from something like 50-85 dollars. I think it was about the same price from NZ to AU as was NZ to US. But less expensive the other way 'round.

The largest packages (70 pounds) run around $400 via Fedex or USPS.

HY. In want to call them because there is no other choice, they do not offer an E/mail address for contact. I want to straighten that one issue for good, about the size of the package(bumpers), according to the site, the pack by weight sounds reasonable, but, I got to find out if there are hidden charges for the size of the package.
If it comes in a boat and takes 3 mos, no problemo, but, FEDEX...500 bucks...yea right...cash or check...o'right, here is...what about monopoly bills...see Mr FEDEX? I can be funny too.

For long light articles like bumpers and guards use a sea freight company doing LCL (loose container lots) where the packages are packed into a container and shipped to a transhipping depot and are picked up from there. These prices are a lot lower than FEDEX, UPS, etc who are in my opinion not very good value for money.

You can often get good back loading deals with airlines for back freight rates if you are prepared to wait for a low load flight looking for money to offset fuel costs back to base.
I sent a 2 cubic metres pallet of guards, bumpers and stuff (300 kg's) to the UK for about $1200 OZ using this method.
