In response to Dodgeman's depressing comment regarding maximum boost levels for Australian modified cars...

The Street Rod main page

1.1.5 The maximum boost for turbocharged and supercharged engines is 9 psi (63kPa).

Engine Section of Street Rod Regulations

Never fear, this wimpy limit is for the "Street Rods", which no 60s / 70s Datsun satisfies as criteria.

If this situation actually comes to pass, then heres what i suggest will happen.

1. Hot Rodders will point to late models like we have with high boost & cry "discrimination, We want high boost too."
2. The relevant authaurities will say "Oops, were sorry, of course we can't allow this unfair situation to exist, so all those blown 454 Chevies & various Hemi Chryslers in 550kg [TIC] "T" buckets can run as much boost as you want, just like the others."

I feel absolutely sure that this is the way it will go, because we will not allow an unbalanced situation like this to survive without substantial lobbying for a redress.
Lets face it, fair is fair.

P.S. TIC is "tongue in cheek"

Chris.

Chris, I feel your concerns. From what I've read at this site , Austrailias modyfying rules are anal as hell.
The bean counters who think making life hard for genuine automotive enthusiests is lowering the road toll etc etc , all need to be shot.

If I say anymore on the subject of these meddling assholes, I will get too worked up.
