Just thought I'd put up a post about our latest in case enyone's interested...

A couple of years ago when I built my A15 I decided points weren't going to be up the 8000rpm job, so looked at options. We ended up modifying an electronic distributor from the E series mazda engine. I never got it fitted and ended up chucking the points dist in to get going, but my uncle has just put Mikunis on his coupe and has been talking about elec ign for a while, which sparked (sorry..) up my half finished project...
I gave the bag of bits to him and he got the thing going, used a coil from some honda, had it tested by the sparky where it whacked out a 23mm spark, anyway he's happy, he reckons it has tranformed the drivability especially at lower revs, but it does have an oil leak which I will hopefully get sorted. He's talking now about trying to fit late model pulsar bits into the original 1200 housing, but I thought I'd ask here for peoples experiences, I know someone on here fitted a pulsar dissy (which model?) and didn't someone say something about honda civic EN1??? Please tell me more...
But if we can get this oil leak sorted (shouldn't be a major) I think the Mazda E-series dist is a good cost effective way of getting rid of the points!

i got a tip from a USA member that he can get around 8-10 elec dizzies (factory a15 ones)

he's not 100% sure on price at the moment but will let us know when he does

he guessed how much they were and it was like US$50-100 cant remember exactly, i said heaps of people would be intrested, so let me know if you are???

i also am gettin four bluey series two electronic dizzies converted to fit a-series at the moment, possible to get more done quite cheap also, probably need regraphing to suit the a-series though

so let me know if you are intrested in either i will see what i can organise!!

series 2 bluebird? what model is that? what engine FWD or RWD?
Are those dissys cheap over your way? If L-series, they're not too easy to find here, 4cyl ones anyway.
I'd be interested to know how it works out, I can do the modding myself but am still keen to hear how you get on.
As for recurving, once you put a big cam in you usually end up doing this anyway so shouldn't be a problem

i thinks its model number 910

it has a L20, with back roker cover
it is a four cylinder, RWD, square looking thing, larger than a 1600 etc.
