I'm wrecking my old vanette.
Has an A15 engine that needs a rebore + some spare engine parts. (old spare head, cylinders etc.)
Also after an 86-93 vanette for parts

The engine was reconditioned around a year ago but we neglected to fit new pistons. Goes well but smokes.

Just been told - the spare head and stuff has been sold.
Just the complete motor. Spare inlet and exhaust manifolds and carburetor.

My father who actually has the car at his place at the moment says he has an offer of $100 which he doesn't think is worthwhile (I don't know what it's worth myself). What do you offer?

Ok, all the info I could get.
less than 30,000km ago:
New bearings, new main bearings, new timing chain, Head shaved, valves grinded.
Needs doing:
Rings and pistons. May need new bearings but not necessarily.

I'd say that's about right.
When we attempted (failed) to rebuild it last time we spent $250 on an engine in far worse condition than this one for parts.
