Cheers for the pics Andrew.
Whats the go with the 4x4's?
I love to hear the V8's in the "aussie car" class, because the old VB Commo aint much to look at! hehe. Plenty of sideways tho, I always wanted to take my old XB ute in that class, or my mates LC Torana. We love dirt roads!

I assume they're sweep/recovey vehicles

Yeah the 4X4's were sweep and recovery vehicles.
I ran up there, white 1200 near the bottom of the page with a green P-plate, it was great fun. Was only my second rally, having done the same one in Bathurst last year, we pushed the little 1200 hard and climed from our starting postion of 34th up to 16th by the end beating more than half the field. On the last day somtime we lost one of the rear shocks, ripped out of the floor and broke off at the bottom. This made it axle tramp out off all the rough corners, it was a real pain. That was our only major problem.

Check out the website AMSAG Southern Cross Rally Series

The yellow 4 door 1200 sedan Im pretty sure is Paul Taylor (Jeffs son) Last time I was down there he told me a few specs its a A12 block with a few internal mods head work and cam twin 45's around 140-150hp
I would love to listen to that BDA Escort screaming through the forrest
There used to be a candy apple red Mark 2 escort that ran in the hillclimb series was the nicest sounding engine I have ever heard around $30k BDA engine!!! My old A series wasnt far off it just needed about another 2000rpm

Great photo's but i'm not sure if I'd be advertising other peoples engine specs for the world to see.

I get your point & Have since edited.
Quite a few of the rally guys run simaller setups he builds quite a few of these engines for PRC where you have to use the standard engine block. Its not a just throw it in job quite a bit of machine work and clearancing envolved.
cheers Andrew

Hi Gys,
I am about to put my A15 into my B310. I want to use this car for rallying and wonder about the wobbly stock engine mounts. Would it be acceptable to solidly mount the engine to the crossmember? I think not, but I figured I'd ask. Better yet, are there any improved mounts available for these cars that I can use? What did you guys use?

Why couldn't you use solid mounts?

Anyways, I heard that 200SX mounts fit if you cut off the extra bolt, and they are a better design.
