Has anyone got one of these? Were they factory installed on the twin SU equipped 1200GX's? I saw this pic in an older Nissan Motorsport catalog:

I used to have one of these in really good shape, along with the front tailpipe section too. My dad sold it a few years back to some dude back in the States. From what I know they came factory on the GX models. Better than a standard exhaust manifold, but not as good as headers. There was a problem with the exhaust pipe hitting the clutch slave cylinder on a LHD car, but I'm sure it could be worked around...just the pipe that came with it curved right into the slave cyl. I havn't seen many more of these around, but if you wanted, you could run true dual exhaust with one of these, kinda pointless though (extra weight).

look svery similat to the 3 flange a15 exhaust set up... that comes on jap spec a15 models, good for low down tourque but not as good for high rpm use, almost as good as extractors

itd be easier and maybe even cheaper to buy a good set of extractors, plus they will be of more use anyways. unless ur trying to build a car as near to standard as possible.

Thanks for the replies guys. The reason I am interested in one of those exhaust manifolds is because in rallying, wouldn't they be more reliable than a header? I mean, don't header's get flattened when jumping a car over bumps?

Not to hijack this thread, but does anybody know if this manifold is adequate for A15/mild build use?

yes will be fine for mild a15, but if you want more hp, get extractors for higher hp in the upper rpm band. These are better for low and mid range power

Headers make good power, but mine hang down too low and come too close to my hydraulic slave cylinder hose.

OK anyone got one of these dual outlet manifolds to sell me and are willing to send it to the US?
