Heres the situation im in-

I have a 71 1200 with standard a12
A mate is selling me a complete turbo set up every thing i need (its off an a14) but i just realised that the exaust and intake manifold will be different bolt holes and different size ports!

So do I -
Change the head to an a15(heard its better than th a14 head)?
Change the engine to an a14?

Any sujestions would be appriciated

also would the a15 head lower the compression a bit cause this would be an advantage too?

Thanks

If you change the head to a15 you will need to modify the oil feed to the rockerarms if your motor is the early type with the dizzy ay the front.

go for an a-14 or a-15 motor if it fits the budget

for a street driven car the extra torque at low revs (off boost) will make it much nicer to drive

and the extra cc's are never gonna hurt

that said the exhaust manifold from the a14 setup would bolt up to an a-12 perfectly anyway, it's just the inlet you would have to swap, which shouldn't really be a problem anyway?
