I have a Silvia dash in my 1200 ute and the fuel gauge doesn't work. Could anyone tell me if I could use the standard gear as my fuel tank is stock size?

I take it the fuel guage never worked since the dash has been put in?
Are you sure the guage is good?
Has the sender in the tank ever been calabrated for the guage?
Chances are the silvia sender wont fit in the tank. If it does you have to make sure the float is at its maximum height when the tank is full and at its lowest height when the tank is empty.
If you dont know what I am talking about, you are best to go to an auto electrician or a guage specialist.

Yeah i understand what you're saying. You're right and no Im not to the first two lines of you reply.
I guess I should go get a pro to work it out so I dont end up ####ing myself.
So an auto electrician can fix this?

All auto electricians should be able to find the problem, but a guage specialist will be the one to fix a faulty guage or to calabrate a sender.
If the silvia sender clips in, the auto electrician can make sure it will work correctly

Awesome, thanks for that. Beats the #### out of going off how many K's you've done. Especially if you've been pumping it heaps. Not that I ever do that kind of thing, cause most speeding is bad. WTF am I going on about. I'm kicking myself off.

Don't have any pics as yet but I will. I didn't actually do it myself but the guy who did had a hard time, I think alot of cutting went on. I'll have it running by this weekend and then I'll take pics and post them.
