I am just curious if anyone knows what power a H165 diff is capable of handling? I currently have a 5-linked H165, but am going to be using an SR20det, and I don't think the diff and axles will be strong enough. Does anyone else know of other diffs that have been used successfully?

In my CA18DET 1200 coupe all i'm running is a ute diff, it handles150bhp(sort of!)
When i give a boot-full between 1st and 2nd(snap 2nd gear) there is so much wheel tramp it shakes so bad that the whole car shakes,BUT!,if you just ease the boost on it its fine, for every day driving that is! just cruising allright, but the ute diff can only handle so much before it goes bang!!
I want to put an LSD skyline or somthing similar idon't know yet.
And for those who would of already guessed, the standard front suspension is not the ideal thing to run behind a turbo(of any kind)WELL DIR!!!!!
you don't relise how scarey brake fade is, until you're doing 160Kph!!!
BELIVE ME!!!

You could try the H190, should be strong enough, you can get alloy carriers to keep the weight down, and LSDs are available, more so than for H165.
If you're keen to lose the H165, get in touch, we could be able to strike up a deal!

I had an FJ20T in a 1200 ute and it was fine on the street till i lock it and went to the drags it snaped on my fourth run. So i sourced an axle change it then cruising one night i was racing a skyline when i hit second it started wheel spining and then i hit a bump and snap theres goes another 1. In saying this it would probably be fine for while but you have to work out what you would rather do spend the extra cash now or change axles later.
Cheers Luke
