It was explained here not so long ago

Something about removing some of the rubber pad the spring sits on.

Anyone care to answer the question properly ?
I couldn't find it doing a search

I looked into this myslef, and decided adainst it as i didnt think that i could gain much without doing it properley.

Not sure how much you can do yourself, but if you can get the spring out, get it retempered to the height you want, but not too far so that you dont have to buy new shocks.
You could also have a leaf added as well which will stiffen it up, and have them retempered to suit.

I have my front leaves in my pootrol retempered for about $150 for the pair, so thats fairly cheap, but I did all the work myslef.

The best adice that io got about my 1000 is from Pedders suspension. They seem to knnow what the go is. Use their adice, and go elsewhere to get the workdone as pedders is expensive.
Hope that helps.

Sorry but the rubber bump stop is the only way to go. The ride is a little more harsh but the tension of the front springs is just right once you put new shocks even after 30 years. Ive heard lots of horror stories cause youll they need that curve they have normally for once flat they sag the other way eventually. Mine got lowered 3 inches at the front and still have 60 percent left on bump stop. Cost is about 40-60 bucks.
Rear is extra leaf and flaten curve and should be around 300-350 bucks including labour.
