Cheap..not great for revving. But it's EFI and would do fine in a 1200. Although a CA18DE would be a better choice.

CA20s in Australia are VERY common at the moment, and getting parts or 5 motors for a couple of grand wouldn't be unusual.

Oh..and the CA20 front pulley doesn't fit on a CA18...damn it. It has a smaller diameter hole, when compared to the CA18 one..

my mum has one in her 92 pintara, and quite frankly it does have a bit of go but is not the strongest motor and it is quite a slug nowadays. it is pretty economic though. meh it's up to you but i would go a CA18. sell the CA20 and save for a CA18

big cam cover maybe..definitely not twincam.. I would think.

Unless the car has a twincam sticker Then it is as good as a twincam

Cheers

is the standard pintara (4cyl) motor a CA20, or is this just the later models???

the older pintara model motor is a good one, as long as you don't work it too much. they're nice and small aswell. should drop straight into a 1200. why don't people do this conversion??? i originally wanted to do this rather than the L20b...
