Someone will clear this up better than me but...in my experince 1200 uni joints are not serviceable. What I mean is you cant bash them out and replace them like your average Falcon or HQ. Last time I had mine done they somehow got them out and tack welded new ones in, yes looks dodgy, but no dramas. My new tailshaft for the 1200 rally car runs easily avaliable Holden uni's I believe.

Actually, just looked in my 1200 service book and yeah you can bash them out like normal ones. Best way is by using a vice and two sockets. Place one socket smaller than the uni joint at one end (driving), place a big socket that is bigger than the uni at the other end (reciever). This will drive one end out, then you just reverse and get the other end out. Yes, it can be a pain in the arse, tried it myself a number of time. Just dont belt the uni joint with a hammer.

Look for circlips on the inside of the four bearings -- if those are present, they can be removed and the ujoints pressed out.

The one in my garage now won't come out in the vise (even after removing the circlips) ... too rusty I guess.

Yeah I have even busted a vice (cheap and nasty) and still didnt get one out. The professional work shops do it in a sec.
