Does anyone out there know what other type of datsun fuel tanks will fit under a 1200 ute without a huge amount of mods?? The current tank I think is only 30 litres but I want something a little bigger for the longer trips.

I know off a ute that has a skyline fuel tank mounted on custom brakets under the tray

you could basically stick any tank you wanted in a ute aslong as it fit and you could run the fuel lines to it, and it didn't interfere with anything mechanical, cost of a custom made tank would be pricey, unless you own a mig and have the time and patience to make one.
You are 100% correct, 30 litre tank isn't enough on long trips, eg. my anual pilgrimidge from ipswich to newcastle at xmas time which is roughly 1000klm in my ute(A14, webber and extractors) it costs me about $80, using about 3 1/2 tanks,
In my CA18 coupe it cost about $120 and that takes just under 3 tanks, just goes to show the price of premium uleaded these days. Maybe i'm just whinging so i'll shut the hell up!

I think if he did you would lose interest in the L20b, and all we would hear about is how you want to put a CA in your ute.

I am in the process of putting a skyline tank under my ute. I am having issues with the filler though. Hopefully will sort them tonight. I will post photo's when it is completed. . . eventually.

Have had to lose the spare tyre mounts.

850x650 is the measurement of the skyline tank, 60 L and intank pump. Most places sell them for $100-150. I am looking at putting the same thing in my 120Y.

I have a spare ute tank for sale if you want it. Lose the muffler and put a tank on that side as well. Run a truck muffler behind the cab. . . maybe not. . .

Cable Tie,

Photos when you have finished would be great. Details on all of the mods and what you did would be useful.

cheers,

Daz

Progress. . . I am a bit slower now that I measure twice. . . In the old days it would be in by now, just not as neat. . .

click on 1200 ute, at the bottom of the page is a link to the tank.
