i don't think the type of seatblet you use is going to detract from the 'cool'-ness of a vehicle.

dunno about the 'coolness' but it'll definitely be a 'pain in the arse' !!!

If you never plan to use the vehicle for motor sport of any kind then you would be playing with yourself if you were to fit 'em.

The 5point belts are a bit of a pain to get in and out of. Personally, I like them better than the 30yr old stock belts. I've gotten use to them though. I have a routine of getting in and out.

think about this, what looks cooler, a choice looking set of belts or you screaming thru the windscreen.
Your safety should always be put before what looks "cool"

well i might get new retractables. a little more practical i think. i would use the car for the drags every now and again but not as a regular on my schedule. im picking up a vibe from you guys that a harness is a real pain to get in and out of and i imagine you would be stuck in the seat pretty tight... not cool when reaching for the road map. its just that my next ute will be used for the ocassional drag, circuit and possibly drift so i didnt want to buy belts twice. thanks for helping me decide anyway.

The belts don't automatically cinch down when you close the door. I tighten the lap belts real tight but leave the shoulders a little loose. If I have to reach further, it's easy to slip out of the shoulder belts and then slip back in.
Again, it is more of a hassel than with stock belts but it's not impossible.

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't done it and would never want to do it, but in NZ I don't think you can even legally fit race harnesses to your road car. You need a Motorsport NZ Authority card which you can only get for a competition car ie it must have a MSNZ logbook.

you're not going to fly through the windscreen with the standard belts dude.
