Hi all

There was this past Saturday some drag racing where I live.
I unfortunately did'nt take my digi-camera with me. I am so cross with myself!

And just guess what I found.
A nissan utility with a Supercharged A15.
I asked the guy a bit about the setup with the following answers:
A15 engine that was fully balanced. He claimed to be able to rev to 9000rpm.
Toyota supercharger located where battery tray is. battery have been moved to back.
Twin 40 sidedraft webers with a small intercooler just to the right above the webers.Bonnet scoop for intercooler.
The setup was a blowthrough.
He said he gets 110kw and 250nm at the rear wheels.
1/4 was 14 seconds with a clutch slipping in third gear.
It sounded awsome.
When he revs it and the revs drops it blows like a compressor for 2 to 3 maybe even 4 seconds out of the blow off valve and you could hear the belt of the supercharger whining at the front with this blowing sound.
Very neat engine bay.
This is something I would like to do to my GX when I have the money.
I hope he is there next time to take some pics and get more specific info on the setup.

Howzit bro.

I'm sure looking at this, made you just wanna say, "I WANT THAT, NOW" and thoughts of maxing out the credit card came to mind.

Oh guess what?
Whilst I was in Durbs this weekend, I was told about this indian bloke whose running a 351 motor in his 1200 delux, boy was I curious to see what it looked like, he lives not far from folks place, I wanted to check it out.
I managed to get his address, but unfortunately, when I got to his place, he and car wasnt at home.
Although dissapointed about not seeing the car, I managed to call him that night.
The car if fitted with the V8.
This cars firewalls had to be dented in, to get the motor fitted, he runs a chevy g\box, some other ford diff, I think a piranha one.
Engine bolts need to be tightened on this motor every month.
He tells me, that I should call the next time I'm in Durbs, so I can have look at this v8 beast a go for ride..
He didnt want to tell me the top speed he attained on quater miles, but asked that if I had seen the 325is in his yard. I said yes,
and then he told me that a {young spoilt rich brat}youngster wanted to try him out 2weeks ago with the BM and 1200 datto.
So he took the challenge and stakes were raised, PINK SLIPS.
Only without any effort, kicking the BMs ass.
I didnt ask further

By the way, he has a few cars ,BMW325is, a Ford Ranchero, and mercedes Slk, but the only time he uses the DAtto is on weekends. Mainly for the Sunday Drags.

Hi Reeves

I think that 1200 makes burnouts very easy.
All that weight up front.
If you go again to durbs go and check it out again.
If possible take some pics of it too.

That guy was stupid to take the V8 on with his Bmw.
Those 325is are scarse cars.
Did he really think he will have a chance against it.
Before I forget.
Here in Bloem there is another deluxe.
It is fitted with a Nissan turbo straight six engine.
I do not know what car it comes out of.
It has stanze brakes up front and the gear lever is next to his hip due to the long engine and gearbox.
It manages 11 to 12sec on the 1/4 mile.
Makes good burnouts too.

A14force
All I know is it has a A15 with a toyota blower.
I unfortunately did'nt ask the Psi as he was about to go for another run. Check to see if clutch still slips.
I hope he is there again next time as I want to get detailed info.
I REALLY WANT THE SAME CONVERSION DONE IN THE FUTURE. That blower sound is awsome. For me it sounds better than a turbo's blowoff valve. Will get more specific detail in the future.

Ya man.

That 1200 with the straight six motor, has probably a l28, l26 engine in it.
These type motors come mainly in the Skylines, laurel, zx's, 260c, 240c,280c mainly here in SA.
Hower could also be a 2.0 turbo, but unlikly, these motor were never manf in SA, maybe imported.
Believe me thats major mods, something I would never do to my car though, these l28 motors a bloody long and this guy had to cut through the metal and hav some of the motor sit inside the car.
So you say that the g\stick is right next to his hip, damn.
Believe me these boxes came with l28s are bloody long, I know, my GTX has one.

Has anyone out here on the site tried putting in a Toyo 16valve motor in the datto, I'm sure it will work, not only is it a bit smaller in size than that of the Sentra ones, but I think also a bit lighter as well.
