Hi! I am thinking of swaping A12 into A15. We have two types of A15, one is from domestic old van, other one is imported from Japan. I heard that A15 from van has less horse power than imported A15. But the price of imported A15 is 3 times more expensive than A15 of van. What is the difference of those two engine? Does bottom of those two engines are the same spec? (crankshaft, piston)
Best Regards,

Hi Chi,
I am familiar with both engines in New Zealand and always choose the old van A15. The old motors usually have better heads than the new pollution ones. The bottom of the engines is the same but the camshaft profile may differ depending on what vehicle the engine was in. With either motor you will notice a big difference from your A12. What Datsun do you have?
