The next round at Mt cotton will be on the 3rd of october.
It's an "ironman" weekend, which means that it starts on friday with a touring assembely,
saturday it's off to the races at Qld raceway for a blap around the track in the morning and a motorkana event in the arfternoon, held out in the carpark, and finally on sunday it's out to the 'mountain' for a day of hillclimbing.
I'm sure Harry(L18B110) will be there, and hopfully craig has his car fixed, and i'll be there, so how about we get some more members turn up?? It's great fun! you don't have to have a fast car or any thing(but it helps) just go out there for a bit of fun, i went for the first time last month and i had a ball!!!! it is really fun to do, if anyone is interested in competing or just wants to go out there for a look, check this out:-MG car club of Qld
just have a look around, it'll tell you what needs to be done, if you have any problem just give them a call on the number thats on their website and i'm sure that they'll only be to happy to help.
I'll give you a quick run down on what you need,
-CAMS Licence-$88 forms can be downloaded from the cams websiteCAMS website
-Membership to a cams afilliated club, either MG car club(thats who i joined), i payed about $60,
-Entry fee to the hillclimb is $66, due in a week or two before the event,
-a roadworthy Datsun, with rego papers and an insurance extension, which basically is a peice of paper from your third party insurer which states that you are covered for that particular days racing.
-A helmet!
They scruitinise your car before competing but thats not very much, just genral saftey requirments.
I think thats all, if i've left any thing out someone please fill in the blanks!

I'll be there. Real keen to see if I can squeeze a little more time out of it... A 47 would be nice (ran a 48.37 last time), especially since I bet some bloke a carton on it

I'm off to Rd 4 of the QLD SuperSprint Series this weekend at Morgan Pk too. I've got the class win for the series pretty much wrapped up, having won the other 3 rounds, but I'm expecting some pretty close competition this time from a mate of mine driving my car...
