my cheapo boost gauge died, but just before i died it was telling me i was running 9psi, which is about as much as id like to run,

but, imagine how happy i was when i hooked up a better gauge today and it only read 7psi,

now remember it was keeping up with a wrx 2000 at 7psi, so what happens when i up it to 9

any guesses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't remember what you have in this but yes if this is the case then you have a quick car. Tell me more about this? Was the rexy a stocker? exhaust? anything? Well done (to you).

its a mates mates wrx, im pretty sure its stock apart from fake bonnet pins and stuff like that

it has "club spec evo4" stickers but i dont know that that means its any better

i am running the twin turbo a15, blow through with fmic, motor is virtually stock internally apart from mild NA street cam, my dizzy is modified for boost retard, and unfortunately only a 1.75" exhaust system, and single spinner h190 (hence wrx gets two car lengths while i wheel spin, but after that i stay only two car lengths behind)

dont mean to be negative mate, but, have you actually thought about what it will take to get a a15 to hold 20psi?, and to get a supercharger that will make that boost efficiently?

is the motor worked as in, as a NA motor, or worked for a boosted application?

as working for boost basically consists of doing the opposite to building for NA, as far as compression and cams go

although mine has an NA cam in it im not trying to run 20psi here

just thinking thats a bloody expensive a-series that will do that, has anyone ever told you about the CA18DET? or 4AGZE?

well jeff taylor has done over 2000 dollars work to make it suitable for boost so i think the engine will handle it, im not saying ill be running 20psi, but it will be higher than 10 for sure, the std pulleys gave 11psi on blown1400's engine and he is running a modded a15 manifold... surely flow will be increased with all stainless pipes on my engine .....
as for a ca18det or 4agze convo, i think the extra work in being different is easily worth it instead of following the crowd......

kegs, im very glad to hear you have it all planned out, and i agree it would be a beast, i have been thinking for a while, what can i do about the head gasket if i do go for more boost, so im wondering what your plan is? o-ring the block? what gasket? etc.?

L18_B110, asap, my mechanic has a dyno which id like to hook it up to and im definately getting it to the drags soon, just gotta iron a few more bugs i think, last night it was cutting fuel every time i hit boost (but i was playing with some wirring so maybe i just unpluged something)

This guy claims 25+ psi and high 12s in the quarter with an A15. Assuming this is correct then it can be done but we don't know how much went into the motor to achieve these numbers. The 1G supercharger is designed for a 2 liter, 6 cylinder engine so I would imagine stuffing that air into a 1.5L would allow it to come up with 20 psi okay.

ah ha i found the problem, the gasket on the carbie was blown, allowing the fuel bowls to squirt petrol evrywhere, and also accross the back of the carb no doubt creating a huge air leak, the bolts where all quite loose so hopefully with a new gasket it wont blow again

but she'll be fighting fit again in about an hour or so
