A bloke at work loaned me a car mag today, and there was an article about two lads who are going to be running a 120y in the targa rally. The story said they had a souped up A15 with sidies . It will be interesting to see how they go.
I would love to give it a go myself oneday, but without a (rich) sponser forget it. $4000 entry fee. OUCH!!!

Build the car, stick to a budget, get a local profile and hit the local businesses for sponsorship. It is far easier to extract funds for a high profile event like the Targa than if your just a struggling club competitor. Several friends have done it and worked on a 3 year plan to achieve their goal and it is a bloody good way to spend a week fanging from one end of the island to the other...

Who ever told you that is FULL OF ####!!
Targa Tas is no more expensive than NZ,depending what section you run it can vary from $2500 to $4000.
$25000 would cover you'r total costs for the week, including the purchase cost of a car..
