Hey guys,
I have been browsing the net for a few days now and can't seem to find some information I am looking for. I am starting to make plans for some more power mods in the near future and would like some
information on big power mods for a CA18DET. Do any of you know any sites or people I can ask in regards to my enquiries?
Also any info I can get on reducing tramp...

Hey nathan what kinda power are you after??? A rebuild with a good set of forgies Balance race preped rods and ARB bolts, bit of head work standard cams , Gt series turbo 20psi on pump fuel should see around the 200-220 rwkw. You will need bigger injectors a descent front mount ect. A bigger turbo will make more power but narrow the powerband quite a bit. A freind of mine has just made 260rwkw out of his CA18det. Has a set of hi lift cams and a pretty big turbo its pretty peeky not much under 5000rpm has run 11.5@121 in a mark 1 corty.
Cheers Andrew

www.silviansw.com
www.nissansilvia.com

Both are pretty reasonable. Too many kids at www.nissansilvia.com.

We have talked about power and CA18's in the past. Most of the power in modern turbo motors are gained with a good rebuild/blueprint and headwork.

Too much more power, and the doors will become hard to close.

Up to you I suppose.

you can check out the specs of the cortina at www.cortina-mk1.com.

very nice setup.

from what i remember his car already has a set of forgies, just a balance will go down fine. i would then opt for a decent size turbo, garrett gt25/30, and a custome exhasut manifold. then you have to upgrade injectors, exhaust, fuel pump/s etc.

... then you could go for one of those cool custom plenums i make (just giving myself a free plug).

Im pretty sure the cams are HKS. Im unsure on spec there are so many to choose from. Different valve springs had to be fitted The engine details -- CA18 engine specs
