hey all, its been a while since ive visited! im joel and i have just bought my second 1200 project. my first was a Ute which is now owned by Ange and i can say he has done a great job with it. i need to change my log on name now though (1976_DATTO_UTE)

i bought a 71 1200 coupe, A14, flatop pistons, twin SU's, 4 speed, 2.5" exhaust etc.. very straight car with hardly anyrust.

CARBY CONCERNS!
the question i ask to you all is that im thinking of not putting the su's and just a 1200 carby but im not sure about the water jets on the block!
can anybody else help or suggest what carbie/webber they have on there A14. hope to hear from you all.

ill let you know about my new log in name
Cheers Joel

Is that a GX engine with those pistons/carbies etc? What are your project plans?

I've used both the stock A12 carb and a Weber 32/36 (DGV) on my A14. Unless you are going to spend most of your time above 5,000 I recommend the stock carb. It's smoother and gets better fuel economy.

Why don't you want to use the Hitachi dual sidedraft carbs?

go the SU's

ive had stock, 32/36, twin SU and twin webber on various a-series, either the 32/36 or twin SUs are best bang for buck for sure

for just around town and occasional highway use (not a racer for the streets) just go the stock carb with a decent air iler or cold air feed. An a14 in these things is spritely enough for around town, or stick a webber on as the a14 does like to rev a bit.
