I pulled this carb from a junkyard for 20$ It seemed to be complete, with the auto choke assembly and adaptor plate, I need to know how to hook it up to the L20B engine. It came off the same kind of truck and same motor as I have. But it was already dissconnected from everything, just setting there... I know it is going to need to rebuilt first, can I get a kit off their website? where do the anti deiseling soleniod and various vaccum lines hook into? But most importantly, the fuel line.

Does anyone have experience installing one of these??

Read this, then come back and ask any questions you still have: Weber 32/36 Carburetor

What is a water choke? `My hitachi was electric. I found a rebuild kit for 30$. Does that include new jets? I'm assuming no. Do I need new jets, seeing as how it came off the same engine, I wouldn't think so... It still doesn't say anything about installation. But what I saw from the picture, I'm missing the piece on the left that the fuel hooks into, where can I find parts for these at? Thanks.

Water choke is a choke that has water flowing through it. Use the electric one instead. Much neater.

What do you want to know? You first bolt the adapter to the A-engine intake manifold. Then you bolt the carburetor to the adapter. That's pretty much it.

Jets do not wear out, so they are not included in a rebuild kit. Since they don't wear out, you don't need new ones ...

Well, the 32/36 only needs one fuel inlet. Not two. If you are missing it altogether, buy a new one from RedlineWeber (search at Google).

I noticed that the two fuel inlets are on each side of each other, about 110 degree angle. The left one is plugged, the right one open, could I just switch the plug and put the fuel inlet on the left like it should be?

About the choke, I see a little dish on the right side with a small hole, and four bolts set in a square, what is this for?

Could I buy a choke for another weber carb and simply hook it up? If so, how does it hook up? Are there any wires involved?

I don't know what any of the small hoses do on a L20B, I also do not know what the two solenoids that plug into the hitachi do, but this carb doesn't have the inlets for them...

I know how to clean it externally and make custom gaskets for the adaptor plate and silicon sealant to mount it all, but I have to make sure its good on the inside, and I have to know how to hook up all the other crap they need....

Ah man you're making this too difficult.

- You don't need custom gaskets: you use the Datsun gasket on one side of the adapter plate, and a Weber gasket on the other side.

- Only one fuel inlet is needed. Don't move it around where it is, it is. It's "right".

As far as the vacuum hose and solenoid valve, please get a Weber book, even if you just get it from the library. It will answer your questions.

i don't understand, the fuel line comes from the left, shouldn't it hook into the left? It holds to much pressure to be wrapped around to the other side right???

OK, fair enough question. The 32/36 comes in right-hand version and a left-hand version.

The fuel pressure is less than 5 pounds -- low pressure. You can just get a longer 1/4 inch fuel hose and wrap it around (gentle bends) or get a curved piece of 1/4 inch steel fuel line.

how many lbs does a stock datsun pump deliver? I've never looked, and the webers really want 3-5 lbs.

Man you need to read the Tech Section -- it's in there: Carb adjustment, troubleshooting, rebuild and inspection.
