As the title says I'm looking to buy a VH40 or VH44 brake booster in good working condition.

These are the remote boosters are they not?
The VR44 is the one ya want it will boost back and front brakes they sell them at Brabond Brakes in penshurst there number is 9580-7562 but they are expensive like around $400 but well worth it if there is no room for a booster.
