no sign of SM4 in our market.
I bought a SMC ECU about 2 months ago. It's the options that cost cash. So AU$1600-$2400 for an SMC.
If you are running an A15, you only need a fuel computer??, unless you will run a crank angle sensor and multicoils.
For a 4 cylinder, the SMC has plenty of outputs, much less for 6 cylinders, and even less for 8 cylinders.
SMC Outputs: 1 PWM AUX output (variable pulse width) 8 - (cylinder number) = on-offs outputs (mappable to various load/rev/temp values) 4+1 for 4 cylinder, and 1 (AUX) for 8 cylinder

I have an SMC.. but I'm not ready to start the engine yet. They are complex to install because of a SEVERE lack of documentation. I'm fairly sure that this is an Autronic ploy, to ensure that only approved/trained agents install them. Bad installs from backyard mechanics would give them a bad name.
I'm a technical guy, but oh man!..it's like pulling teeth to try and work out how some things should connect.
You call the Autronic Manufacturer..they fob off your questions in the nicest possible way, and tell you to ask questions from the supplier. No good if the supplier doesn't know either, and you find out that they, and others just hack around to make things work. With plenty of hit and miss involved.
But my supplier also is strongly encouraging us not to give up, and tells us that's it's far superior to anything else on the market. The supplier having 30+ years in the car rally business.. I trust that he's right.
Chris
ps. I'll let you know, once I get mine running.

Do wolf, microtech, ems, link, haltech have bad reps???????????
I think its a bit of an ARROGANT attitude to have. Just because someone is not an APPROVED installer does not mean that, given proper documentation, that they could not wire up a computer.
I am qualified in nothing, yet I would not do such half arsed work as I see some qualified people doin. In fact, I have spoken to some QUALIFIED distributers of an EMS (wont mention the brand) and what they told me about the system they install on cars turned out to be absolute horse droppins. I had my doubts about what they told me, made a direct enquiry to the manufacturer and proved my concerns with their advice were founded.
