Greetings from NZ Have NZ triple S motor in good condition no inlet or carbs. Round inlet. Thinking of putting it into my 1200 station wagon as a simple engine swap. Could I use
my A12 inlet and Hitachi carb.

They will both be fine - that is a classic engine as they were standard from Nissan NZ. Look after it and keep an eye out for 2 x Delly 40's to get that classic
noise and response.

One thing to be wary of using the single Hitachi carb is that if the engine is a genuine SSS then it has a wilder cam than stock. Thats why they turned on with the twin 40's and
extractors. The SSS 1200 used the Nismo grind 70* which is a torquey race/rally cam it's duration is 280* as compared to the single carb 248*. So I would really recommend refitting
the twin sidies. If you need some or a manifold let me know as I have some laying around here somewhere. Coby still do the SSS extractors too.

I knew it had a wider cam not sure if it would be drivable with just the Hitachi. Original A12 has 250 thou miles and must be getting tired but you wouldnt notice. Seem to be
a very strong engine Im just getting ready for if/when have to replace. Gearbox & diff starting to make little more noise too. Thanks for info much appreciated

A manifold and twin carbs for the triple S could be good. Contact me by email
when not too busy
