Hey. I just got a Stanza recently and am planning to do it up as its in great condition. What i'd like to do tho is change the engine to something with more punch. Am currently looking into ca18det and sr20's. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which motor is better? What else am i looking to have to do to get it installed? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Z18ET - Easiest, Old, Parts may get hard to get, Engine will need a rebuild, 8 spark plugs.

CA18DET / SR20DET - Are about the same difficulty to install. The SR20DET is newer, and has more power "out of the box".

All except Z18 need a new tailshaft. Nothing can be done for less than $3000-$4000. You'll need to upgrade brakes, diff, suspension etc too.

Look at modified Datsun 1600s...they've done all of the transplants before.

You're not really asking in the right place. We here are A-series and 1200 people. The Stanza only fit's in here because of it's struts and front lower arms as parts for our 1200 upgrades..

Yeah www.OzDat.com has great info on stanzas and 1600's (dedicated to the P510 and its brothers) but ask the fellas on there as there are many who have accomplished Z18, Ca18 and SR20 conversions..

Plus you could look to MadDat and other Aussie Datsun modification shops for x-members, suspension, engines and the list goes on...Just search around on here or OzDat!

Stanza's are a great rally car and look tough done up a bit...
