Hi All

I have a B120 1985 1200 Ute - with drum brakes at the front. I'm looking to put discs on the front for the extra braking power.

I've got some 120y B210 struts lined up, are these a straight bolt in? Should I hunt 'round more for Stanza struts? Then add the TRX wheels? Are sunny struts any advantage over the others?

The 120Y struts are cheap and handy at the moment!

Any help

Thanx

Andrew

From what I've seen, the B210 is not a straight bolt-in job.

Struts from a B310 are a straight bolt-in, IF you use the control arms and TC rods from the B310 also. Plus, I think the B310 discs are slightly larger.

Keep in mind, if you do not have a dual circuit master cylinder, you will probaably need to switch to one.

Stanza struts are good but they are an inch longer than the stock ones so they jack your car up a bit to much.

are you sure about that? cause I thought that the toyota calipers bolted straight onto the 240/260/280Z struts, and Z calipers don't bolt up to B310 struts....

120y Struts will bolt right up, i did this to my girlfriends sedan a couple of months ago with no problems, just bleed the brakes after, thats probly the hardest part, if you want put a tandem master cylinder on i didnt and the only difference is a slightly firmer peddle feel.
NZDatman is right, from what ive heard anyway the early toyota calipers only bolt up to the 240/260/280z struts, they dont bolt up to 280zx struts i have tried that one at the wreckers, and there are two types of these calipers they are from late 80's early 90's HILUX, or FOUR RUNNER and the early ones have a small solid disc, these are the ones to use with the z struts. The later model ones have vented disc and these are to be used with stanza and other struts and utilize some sort of vented disc, i think people on this site have done this with verada discs or 300zx but you will have to do some research on this.
