Hi

My car is running really hot, 60 - 70kph my temp gauge shows over 3/4 above that speed the temp gauge goes nearly on "H" top of the hot gauge

So far I checked my timing, idle, air/fuel mixture, timing belt, new thermostat with 3mm hole, swap my radiator to 323 one. I checked the radiator 1st before installing it and seems pretty good flowing really well and fins look great.
Flush the old coolant and new coolant in 323 radiator then run for few minutes for air pockets.

I can't hear any loud bearing noise for my waterpump or no leakage coming from the pump.

I checked my compression
Cylinder 1 = 172
Cylinder 3 = 170
Cylinder 4 = 165
Cylinder 2 = 168

recently I noticed blue-ish smoke on start up so probably need valve seal or rings...

No milky stuff in the radiator so far, no leaking hoses

Any suggestions or ideas?

Cheers

Any steam out the exhaust. Could be craked gasket or head letting the charge blow into the water.

Same problem with my new sedan. Temp gauge shows between half and hot all the time. I am luck enough to work for an engineering company with meters etc. Took several reading and my water was no more than 80

hook up a capilary temp gauge or put a thermometer it the radiator that will soon tell you what is happening.

Are you losing water/coolant from the radiator anywhere? i.e its not just boiling over but leaking somewhere from the engine/gearbox?
You sure the radiator is flowing well? No crap in there and water galleries?

Diagnosis becoming clearer with more info!

not losing any water at all, no leaks anywhere
took it to Red Devil radiators yesterday and their 1st comment is my rad is blocked, then I told them I flushed it nicely and checked it and they double checked it and its not blocked at all its in very good condition.
They checked the water pump as well and also good.
Checked the head as well and they said theres no problem....

so Im leaning on temp sender unit being faulty

where can I get a replacement unit? or should I just install a new water temp gauge?

Try a new sender but it could also be a gauge problem. Go to a good auto parts store & buy a capilary temp gauge or it could also be called a mechanical temp gauge & put that in. You can get them for about 30 - 40 bucks. Those types of gauge generaly read accurate

Yeah and make sure its a right rated one, i.e. different tempuratures for different applications.. This same thing happend to me but it WAS my radiator, not saying it is yours tho...Mine had grass seeds stuck in 2 of the passage ways!

So im guessing the engine doesnt really radiate that much heat compared to normal then? Like the engine bay isnt as hot as norm?
