I just replaced the head gasket on my CA18DET with a new genuine part and I noticed that a couple of the block openings in the back half of the head are covered by the gasket. Is this normal? Can anyone post up a pic of what the gasket should look like?
Thanks Matty

Yeah that's my ute mate. I prefer not to have my car noticed. Dale (Wally's Wagon) took that photo for me on a cruise in 2003. The only things that I have changed visually since then are the wheels and the ride height. I have to run 14" Skyline steelies now to clear the big brakes and it sits a lot lower since the new suspension was put in.

Some of you Oz guys are sure paranoid, but then 1200's aren't noticed here in the states.

BTW, do you ever notice that often there are more guests on this site than members?

Some of these lurkers must be pretty creepy.

More relevant to your post, the gaskets Nissan sells here don't have piston o-rings like the aftermarket sort.

Hi matbighat
It's not paranoia mate. I just prefer not to drive a flashy, look at me style of car. For me the fun is in surprising people out at the track not having people admire how big my wheels are on the street.
Regards Matty
