What is the easiest way to plug the water ports from the head to the intake manifold?

I drilled and taped mine the made up screwed plugs(or you can cut a bolt down to size and cut a screwdriver slot in the end). Add a little high temp sealant and screw the plugs into the head and problem solved.

I was thinking if i just block off the connector for the coolant hose and leave the passages from the head then the intake will heat up a little which will help in cold weather and it won't warm up as much as it would with the hose connected.

That seems easiest since my intake has passages for coolant.
