can someone tell me if an A12 out of a 71 1200 will fit into a 77 120y wagon which has an A12? Are the engine mount holes in the same place? Also are any parts from the 1200 interchangeable with the 120y ie brakes, suspension. this is my first datto so please be gentle if this is a stupid question

I do not beleive it is a straight bolt in , your car will have an A12A vs. the 1200's A12 motor mounts are differant and the alterantor is located differantly.Chekc the tech section and it should answer most of your questions.

Just to add to what Tom said, many of the components, struts, brakes etc are interchangable, and the engine swap is reletively straightforward even for someone of limited experience.
