Should of been here years ago

Im from a family of datto drivers and racers and love to race my litle coupe

dad has a coupe race car and won state championships in road reg classs under 1600

Im currently building a new turbo engine and hoping to make it scream

based on Sunny a12 with A15 head and plenty of boost to run in under 2ltr improved production class rules for racing

Any hints or tips greatly appreciated

CT20 toyota diesiel turbo

small exhaust housing with large compressor

it was free

I have to run a ristrictor for class rules and these make the supercharges too hard

Hi BigV.

I reckon its a great idea. I have been collecting parts to do this myself, but due to circumstances beyond my control I'm forced to sell all the stuff.
A series turbo setup for sale

Best tip I can give you is that the IPRA rules allow 2% tolerance on class capacity limits, so the actual limit for <2000cc is 2040cc. This allows you to go .030" over on the A12.

I also have some 13*7" wheels for sale, which is the maximum width permitted for under 3000cc cars in IPRA.

And can put you onto the guy who makes the IPRA legal flares and spoilers too. There's a pic of them on my car on that link above.

And welcome to the club! what state are you in?

Harry

Ive actually just goon throught the process of converting to bluebird offset for my rims and im only hopping to run cheap set of rims for the moment

we have 4 sets of 13*7 hotwires from when dad was racing three sets of trx rims and about five other sets of different rims

i run my gaurds flared allready just using orgional steel (lighter)

have been following the racing in ipra in vic with tony skinner (currently num 1 car) last year and dad builds race car stuff for a living so im hoping to be able to develop a nice potent little package

Any info you have will be gladly recorded you know what thay say the more people you talk to the better

that's cool. sounds like you're well on the way. the A12 turbo idea is a good one, with all turbo cars having to run the same size restrictor, a really well prepped A12 turbo could really put the frightners on the overs I reckon! The inlet restrictor will effectively put an upper limit on power, so a really tough A12 turbo could potentially be an outright contender! wouldn't be cheap, but it would be a whole bunch of fun to have an under take outright honours! Does Vic run combined grids like QLD or seperate races for overs and unders like NSW?

depends on the meeting if its the island of magic its split buy times but normally just through them all together and watch them play

Dads 1200 coupe was up the frount in his day and i could step into his however these days it would be only mid field rotors and 8s are getting serious
