hi fellas (and ladies)

since my car has been going i have not yet been able to sort out my running issues, it goes fast, but not how i know it should...

basically i think the key to unlocking my power is in the timing, which seems to jump around depending on what the price of gold is trading at....

i have set the base timing many time to 15 dbtdc which is what is the nissan factory standard is, but it seems to keep reverting back to 5dbtdc. sometimes the fault codes will come up 55 sometimes it will be 43 (knock sensor) i haven't changed my sensor yet but is this a nissan safety thing? i thought limp home mode made it not rev and be filthy rich, the car still goes fast for the uneducated in datsun turbo power but i know how it should be going.

basically it doesn't have the traction issues it should have, and the turbo only delivers late in the rev range, rather than spinning the wheels when i plant it.

anyone experienced similar?

could it be a stuffed injector?? If one injector is not delivering the fuel in a similar fashion compared to the other injectors, I spose u could end up with a car like yours.

I'm not sure if the ca18 uses the oxy sensor under all conditions..if it does then my theory may be right. If one injector is buggered...the oxy sensor will see a lean condition. The cylinder running lean may detonate causing the timing to retard. More fuel(too much fuel in 3 cylinders) + less timing = bad running car = car not producing boost at low revs...

i am hoping not, but i like your thinking. i put the injectors in about 1500km's ago and they had just been cleaned and flowed with new filter baskets and caps put on.

keep the ideas coming!

pull the plug on your oxy sensor and see what happens this should put it into base setting a mate of mine had a problem withthe oxy sensor and it did exactly what your talking about

it was telling the computer it was lean sometimes and filty rich the next

to check this run a multimeter on it at cruz on flat road you should get a a reading consistant within .2 of a volt
ranging between 0.3 and 0.9

pullin the plug fix the problem
