Heya all - its been a while! Been focusing my attention on other parts of life - and not the 1200.

The 1200 hasnt moved for 2 years. Its still in primer, sitting under a tree collecting twigs. Theres no interior and theres loose panels, spiders are making themselfs comfy aswell. My problem is.

Either buy a new shell with paint and interior and swap all the good bits over - or - get this thing fixed up!

So if its the later i need a paint shop willing to give the 1200 some love. I cant do the work - i want it done properly.. And theres just bits and pieces that need a panel beater to get right...

So anyone know a good paint shop in Sydney that can do the job?? I dont want anything flash - just a nice blue or somthing..

I thought time has come to do somthing about the 1200 - i lost my licence for speeding and i have only 3 months left till i get it back..

Davo

Hey Davo.. You sure got a lot of reading homework to do...Welcome Back! Did you go to the Datnats at goulburn at easter?

I've just finished my ca18/sedan project. And I am seriously never doing it again.

A ground up restore is really hard work unless you are either in the panel/paint business or have a lot of money.

The year or two that you've been away, the price of parts and labour have gone up, and parts have started to dry up. Especially for coupe bits.

I would recommend that you save $3000-5000 and buy a really straight original. Get a "respray" not a baremetal job, and keep it on the road.

Unless you have some divine intervention (lotto), I wouldn't recommend a ground up rebuild to anyone that can't do most of it themselves.

Have a long think about it, before starting to spend up on your project.

Cheers,
Chris
