Hey everyone

my friend and I was fixing his 1200 during the long weekend, he did a CA20E swap on his 1200 sedan anyway...

the CA20E has an O2 Sensor attached to the exhaust manifold and the wire has been cut and we dont know how to wire this up?
it looks like its just a single wire... does anyone here by any chance know how to wire this sucker up?

does it go straight to the ECU? what gauge of wire should we use?

cheers

It uses a shielded wire (coax) generally. It would be "best" if you went to the wreckers and cut the wire out of another loom.

But if it's a single wire..it definitely goes straight to the ECU 02 sensor pin. Going to the wreckers with a multimeter, will give you a chance to find out which pin.

Both!

R31 Pintara (Like R31 skyline)
Also U12 Pintara, which has a CA20 frontwheel drive.

Some of the early (or base model) R31 Pintara's had a carby, and therefore won't have the O2 sensor.

more question...

Do we need a 1986+ CA20E model ECU for the 1986+ engine???

cos we only have the 1984 ECU and I'm guessing the 1984 engine doesnt have an O2 sensor

is it a straight swap? or do we have to do the whole harness wiring again?

does changing ECU (no o2 sensor) to the newer ECU for the same car and same engine bear in mind that the newer engine has O2 sensor and the old one doesnt
do we need to re-do the wiring of the entire car again?
we are stuck please advise and help

thanks
