ooh baby that was one helluva rally. Tasmania is a truly visually marvellous place and it was a great place to stage a great rally.
The amount of twisty dodgy roads with death defying cliffs infront and to the side made for lots of fun for all. Some drivers were quivering with fear as they passed through end of stages.
The Tasmanians were out in force to see the cars, going as far as setting up deck chairs on local bridges etc and cheering them on. On the final race day, just before going into Hobart for presentation ceremony, I saw one Japanese bloke and his wife sporting a huge Nissan flag. He also had facepainted the Datsun logo onto his face!!! priceless
Ive got loads of pics and DV footage, the best of the Datsuns there was a nice 1600 sedan w/ worked L20B, one Datsun 2000 roadster and many Z cars.
i may be wrong but Targa means tarmac in italian i think - and the original Targa rally was held in Italy back around the 50's?
who else got to soak up some Targa action ? AND dat16, did you recover from your encounter with a GT-R ??

you were on the front cover of on of the Tassy papers the next day, and i bumped into a girl who actually saw you get hit!! youch.
EDIT :
another targa postDat16 good to hear you made it in one piece after that time you spent on the gtr's bonnet!
