The A12a engine [75mm bore x 70mm stroke] displaced 1237cc & was used in the B310 [Sunny] in some markets. It was never used in the 1200 ute as far as i can tell, & the B310 crossmember will not fit your ute.

You are looking for a 1974 & later B120 [Datsun 1200 ute] crossmember. This will alow you to fit the later A12/13/14/15 engines to your Datsun 1200 car without modifications.

Yep thats it a B120 Ute Crossmember, cheers for that. But i am sure that the A12a is the same as the ones they had in the utes, my mechanic friend said they are commonly known as the commercial engine.
But then again, he's probably wrong.
Cheers Sean

how keen are ya? my mates got one located about half an hours drive from my place, and i think the car still goes, so he might be wanting to keep it (unless i can wave a sufficient amount of cash/beer under his nose). then you'll have to ship it over.
