Got all my ####e together and ready to fabricate my extractors for my A15......
They will be a 4-2-1
Primary size 33mm inner diamter (1.4 wall)
Secondary size 39mm inner diameter (1.6 wall)
And into a 2" collector (will make out of sheet metal)
And into my 1 3/4" system...

This is the best example i have, courtesy of DatRats.com.au, thanks for the use Errol!!

All i have to do now is work out my radius sizes and knock up my jig on a piece of wood and rubber tube
As i'll be doing the bending ill have to make a kinda stand to do the bending in, bugger.

But what i neeed to ask is would it be ok to run my fresh 'mild' A15 with a new carby, 32/36, on the standard exhaust manifold? it hasnt been fired up yet and im just worrying im going to suffocate the ol girl to death!!
Waddya reckon?

Dave

I have a round port A15 with a mild cam and 32/.36 and it revs easily enough that it needs double valve springs . I have the standard cast iron exhaust and standard pipe up to the cat and from there back it's 2" and goes through a big muffler, Low end torque is pretty good and the topend is good, but i need to rev higher.

Looks nice!

yeah here in the USA we've had catalytic converters on every car since 77? or so, even ones that have carbs.

a nismo extractor is like $200 US + shipping, the main reason to make one is for turbo / experience

Yeah i know leigh, its gona be fu*kn hard but i havent had practically any experience with welding and tube bending etc so i thought i miteaswell start somewhere!
The good thing is that my teacher in metal work (at school) knows a SH|T load about cars, race engines as hes been there done that kinda guy, bit to arrogant for my liking but you get that with people.....Plus having the satisfaction of fabricating my own PROPER tuned length extractors will be rewarding and almost a small portion of bragging rights hahhaha

So do you guys reckon it'll be fine using the standard exhaust manifold? I wont be causing to much starvation for those nasty exhaust gases to get out?
Yeah its good not having to have cats on our exhausts, i dont know if they could really fit anywhere under my car!!

And if it does take to long i mite just modify those ones i bought off you (leigh) and chuck em on, its gona take a while but well worth it!
