Now that I've got your attention I need some help with mag wheel nuts.
I'm trying to fit some Toyota mags to my 1200 but the stud holes on the mags are 20mm diameter whereas the locating collar/barrel on the nuts are 17mm. Today I went to several tyre shops to find wheel nuts with a larger collar with no success.
Has anyone got any suggestions? Do you know of anywhere that sells sleeves for the stud holes maybe?
Thanks Matty

if you can't find suitable wheel nuts, you could have steel inserts fitted to the wheels and use normal tapered wheel nuts. This place does good work at very reasonable prices:

Hi Matty, Give Keith for wheels in Springwood a try.
They have been great for me with centre caps and wheel nuts

Thanks for the quick replies everyone. Ade - I tried Keith first and he sent me on a wild goose chase searching for Patrol nuts which ended up having exactly the same collar size as the ones I have! Will try the other places.
Thanks again
Matty

Vixen - Which toyota wheels are you using? I'm going to use the old Corona/Crown mesh style 14" * 6" style.

i'm running those exact wheels now (painted white), the corona/tarago/crown (i.e. village bicycle for toyota) 14*6

i had the inserts put in as l18_b110 said at a cost of $75 for 5 wheels, this is great cause tappered nuts make it 5000 times easier to put a wheel on

i also had the centre machined out, on the back half of the centre of the rim, a bit as the wheels would not sit flat on the front hubs due to the "fillet" on the datsun hub, you should also have this done, this cost $50 for 5 wheels

i had a place down here called "eastern wheel works" do the work, they are a wheel repairer, i'd suggest find someone similar up there that knows their shiat

1200Rallycar - What do the sleeves on your wheels look like?
The ones I have been shown have a flat top on them. Like a washer that sits proud about 1mm proud of the wheel hub. Does that sound like the ones you have?
