Hi guys, my 1200 never had a heater so when I had the engine done I had a 120Y lower hose connection fitted (no probs there)
I have started to plumb in my new heater and the problem that I have is the 120Y pipe for the heater is 5/8 inch (16mm) and the heater core connection is 1/2 (12mm) so I talk to my local parts mob and they have nothing close, I can make an adapter but would prefer only two connections in the hose
Any ideas ???
cheers Ade

You probably just hose clamp it good the largest one is just 4 mm different. Maybe use 2 clamps to make sure it's tight.

I have a few heater hoses in my car that aren't quite right and it's been fine.

It's not too hard to make up an adapter. between the diameters. I use two 30mm lengths of copper pipe of appropriate diameters, and just solder them up. But getting a good seal is a lot of work. Even very small holes can leak a lot of water over time.

Try Supercheap Auto (If you have one nearby), they allow you to dig around in their heater hose selections.

Hi Guys, Think I will go with the supercheap idea.
A mate of mine can knock up an adapter on his lathe but as I mentioned I would prefer to have only two clamped sections on the hose, I do have an original lower hose insert for a 1200 but that defeats the purpose.
I do have a geniune nissan hose that suits my needs but the part number is long since gone and being a ex parts guy with out the right info the chance of getting a correct hose ( and to add if the right info was not given I would not order the part)
I might try to track down a 120Y hose thru a mate at Nissan and see how I go
