Hey guys.

As some of you that went to the 2005 DatNats would know, I had problems with my RX7 S5 injectors. Now these things came with a "I've been cleaned certificate" from some knobhead via ozrotary.com in QLD.

I got 6 of them, all of them had bad spray patterns, and 2 were leaking. After an extensive clean, they are all good now.

After cleaning, all are now within 1ml of each other (rated at 550cc).

So.. My plenum should go back on this Sunday, and I'll be ready to book my trip to the dyno for a real ECU mapping exercise.

It won't be a power tune, so I'm not expecting any mega numbers, until I've run the car in properly.

But things are looking up.

I'm redesigning/remaking the heater hoses/pipes on the CA18, while I've got the plenum off. I'm still yet to drill and tap into the turbo to run pressure lines to the autronic boost control.

I took my car for a decent drive (got some petrol in the next suburb) and found that the new rear suspension "encourages" a bit of rear end oversteer. Good for drifting.

The car wouldn't have much more power than an A15 at the moment. No boost, no aggressive advance, and safe over-fueling.

So I gotta get it sorted, to get my dreams on the way.

Thought you all might like an update...I've been a bit quiet about my progress lately.

Chris

just a suggestion, but take the spares, spray them with wd40 or crc, then stick them in a
plastic bag, fill it with the same spray, then get most of the air out of the bag & seal it.cleaned
injectors will start rusting the nozzles almost
immediately.i've been told by someone who i trust ,that you have at most 3-4 days before the injectors would have to be cleaned again.so those rx7 injectors were probably cleaned, then left sitting around.i did the wd40 trick on some skyline injectors,& when i finally got to fit the injectors 3 weeks later,it fired right.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.

I'll be doing that ASAP.
