hey while i was banging the #### outa my steering tonite i managed to fully stuff the thread on that elbo that conects from the steering arm to a balljoint then onto the main ball joint below my strut......
it has a split pin ....then a nut .....then to get it off u have to beat the crap outa it to get it off.......i think u mite call it like a steering control arm or sumthin........

any way i stuffed the thread where the split pin and nut are.....i got it off and undid it from the control arm so now i just have the elbo........

now that i am finished explianing what it is........i was wondering if a 180b or 200b or sunny or sumthin would be the same as i desperately need one tomoz moring so i can drive it to work on monday....

wreckers pleeeaaaaaseee help....!!!!

thanks for da help

If you had read your workshop manual BEFORE starting work you would have known the correct way to remove this part without destroying it. You should NEVER need to "beat the crap" out of any steering part.
A smart blow to the right place with an assistant holding a much bigger hammer on the other side of the impact point should do the trick. Applying a separating pressure with a large screwdriver often assists the process.

The rod end is not interchangeable with the larger models, but try Repco. If no good, then ring every parts supplier in the phone book. 1200 utes were made untill relatively recently,so you may have some luck.
PS, elbow ends with a "w"

inner or outer tierod end?

Inner ones can cost over $120 each, outer ones are cheap as chips.
talk to repco..expect to wait a few days potentially.

if you bashed an inner tierod end with malice, then you shall rot in hell. or at least fester in the boils of a thousand lepers from bombay...

Before you give up on the part you 'bashed'. Is it bashed really hard?
Is it bent right over? Or are the threads
just flattened? This can often be fixed
with a metric thread file . It's a square
file, with 8 different thread pitches on it.
(4 per end). They're fairly cheap to buy.
There's a chance the thread will clean
up enough to put the nut back on.
As long as the end is not too far bent.
You file the matching thread pitch parallel
to the dammaged thread, working from
good thread into the dammaged thread.
I make this mistake (the bashing part)
@work, more often than I'd like to admit.
9 times out of 10, my thread file gets things
right again.
Good luck.
