Howdy all,
I'm currently using a boosted master cyl from an early rwd pulsar , the problem is with the cam I'm using and the vacume set up doesn't match. The vacume isn't constant , more of a pulse which screws with the booster. Basicly a "pulsing pedal"
The brakes are VERY sensative but fade quickly due to low or inconstant vacume especily at low RPM. If it was stock , no problem.
What I'd like to know is which master cyl I should be looking for to replace the boosted one. I'm running stanza discs/calipers on the front and standard ute drums on the rear.
Thanks in advance.

A RWD pulsar aye?

Have you made sure the one way check valve is fitted correctly and working?

It was a RWD Pulsar wagon , early 80's I think .
Something like one of these

The one way valve I bought new and made sure it was fitted the correct way on a few occasions.
I've had this braking system in the ute for about 12 months now and after fitting a renewed rear end with new wheel cylinders and shoes , I hoped the brakes would have improved a bit over what they were.
I'm just about to start a 5 speed conversion and thought I might fit a hydrolic clutch this time round. To do this , I'll have to fit a doubler plate to the fire wall for extra strength to fit up the cluth master cyl . This would also mean I'll have to remove the booster to fit the doubler plate and I thought I might replace it at the same time with a non boosted unit.

serious first, silly comment later,i promise.it sounds more like you have a warped disc.this will cause a pulsating problem,& is more likely if you're overheating the front brakes.i had a 1200 do this to me years ago,& my sunny panel van did it too.either get the front discs skimmed or get new front discs.as for the cam affecting a master cylinder,i have a pretty radical cam in my sunny racecar,& the low vaccum only affects the pedal effort, which i'm
going to use to support my first suggestion.so get the front discs looked at.as for the funny comment, dodgeman has said it already.
