Ignore me guys...I'm just testing pictures of my chariot. I realy have no idea what I'm doing on the internet. If it works I'll be amazed. My apologies for this if it goes wrong. Cheers Dan.

Congratulations, you've gotten farther than I did in submitting a photo. "Enter the URL of the image you want to submit" is the next hurdle. Any tips ?

Hey Jim

There are a few threads on here which list how to post pictures. If you do a search for "Posting pictures" one of which comes up is written by "ddgonzal", who wrote on 2003/2/22 the following with regard to posting a picture in a thread:

You have choices:

1. Upload the picture in the photo album. Then you can post a comment in the photo album and so get a thread going.

2. Upload the picture to the "Forum" part of the photo album. Then in the main or off-topic forum (or any other regular forum) use the URL button to refer to the picture's page in the photo album. The URL would be something like: url=http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=762

3. Link directly to a photo on another Web site. Use the IMG button when posting. The trick is you link to the jpg, not to the Web page. For example: http://www.datsuns.com/images/etbay640.jpg (this is a picture at http://www.datsuns.com/projects/eddiet.htm

The potential downside in linking to a photo on another site is that the other site may eventually change, losing the picture. Better I think to put the photo in our Photo Album first.

Tips on uploading pics:
- Make sure it ends with jpg instead of JPG
- Less than 100k in size. Crop the photo or reduce the size (resize) if it's bigger than that.

When you're looking for the URL, once the photo is posted on the website, right mouse click on the photo, select "properties" which should be at the bottom, and the URL is located on that.

I'm far from an expert at this, but if you need help there are some very knowledgeable guys on here, like ddgonzal.

Hope that helps.

Dan
