i can get a cheap ca18de but its a front wheel drive motor.what r the main differences between this and a rwd motor? and can the mounts fit a pre fab crossmeember? any info would be appreciated

Too many differences. You can get RWD CA18DE engines for under $500 2nd hand. Shop around. The cost of buying/making the bits to make it work will end up costing more than buying the proper engine in the first place.

If you've got it "real cheap..nothing", then keep it for spares.

yeah i just finished reading the post about the sr20de and after reading that i thought pretty much of a muchness i think i need to do research on the rwd ca18det but cheers any way
