Hey guys want to get as much info from you regarding engineering an SR20DET in a 1200 ute. Supposidly it cant be done in queensland from unreliable sources. just seen the Finished Mini me - (AWSOME JOB!!) and thats fully engineered right? Mini Me - can you give us some information on what the engineer requiered for brakes etc. Apparentley its "easier" to register and engineer mod ect in NSW?????

yes you can have a legal install of an SR20DET into a 1200 however you just need to find an engineer to do up a report and pass it (report itself is worth 800 bucks). So you have to find one of them first them ask them what they want on it before the pass it, ie boosted brakes, 4 wheel disk etc.

Then find out what ever else he wants in order for him to pass it then away you go, but be sure to always be in touch with the engineer to make sure your heading the right track otherwise if you don't and don't do something to his specs he won't pass you and then all the time has been wasted.

See how you go

PS why most people go the CA18DET is it's under the gueensland transports can modify list meaning the power to weight ratio is acceptable.
So all you need is a mod plate to say your car aight gonna fall apart or crash etc which are around 80 bucks for the plate depending on how many mods etc

Cheers
