'Based heavily on the L18, the Z18T is a single cam, 8 valve fuel injected turbo charged motor. The two major differences between a Z-series motor and the L-Series motors, is that the Z-Series have a crossflow head and are an 8-plug design. The Z-series is essentially a replacement for the L-series that had been first used in 1968, the Z-Series motors were being used until the early 1990's.l
'Gearboxes are, like the FJ20, very similar to a L-Series 6 cyl gearbox, and they can be interchanged with an FJ20DE gearbox freely, being identical.'
