Hey all,
Just got my 1200 ute from NSW. it's great i'll post it up soon. Just wondering but a quick question regarding the wheels. The wheels are dragways but only the rears are currently on due to issues with the front ones rubbing badly.

They are 15*6s with 185/50s with a stanza front end. The guy i bought the ute off only had the wheels on the front once, and you can see the tires actaully had chunks taken out of them from driving it.

B120dat said he just had his gaurds pumped out a bit by a panel beater and he was fine after that. (stanza front end with 14*6s)

Anyone know what i should do? Should i get the gaurds pumped out? Does it make a big difference?
Thanks in advance, Mike.

If the tyres hit the guards, then you have a bad combination of wheel track, wheel offset, ride height & tyre size.

At 185x50x15, the outside doameter of the tyre should not be an issue, but the Stanza struts & brakes will widen the track, pushing the tyres out & under the lip of the guard.
The 6" width may not be the best if the extra width is outward. In other words, if the rim has too much positive offset, or at least too little negative offset.

My personal preference is for 5" or 5-1/2" rims with enough negative offset to ensure that the tyres are nicely tucked under the guard. This problem is also one of the downsides of the Stanza strut & brake upgrade.

try to get some 195 45 r15 second hand if you can, fixed my problem with the 15 X 6.5 rims on my ute, this would be a temp measure till you get the guars pumped a bit. Have you tried the broomstick method to roll the guards a bit yet?

Have you tried rolling the guards with a length of pipe?

The lips of the garuds are rolled, but need the actual garuds pumped out. Might have to try and get the smaller tyres if i can.
