well i starting priming up the ute yesterday and now i just cant decide what colour to paint it. I have already bought enough Jet black to do the car but after seing the matt black primer i quite like that. So, my question is... Gloss black or Matt black? All the chrome is now Gold so it will be black and gold. *imagine*

if you have gone to that much trouble go gloss.

matt is for old bangers that you want to look cool but cant be arsed doing properly,or if your building a rat rod.

matt may look unfinished, but don't go too glossy either. Its a car not a mirror...
unless you do have that perfect body of course

hey, you still want that hand brake cable/door hinge?
Its still sitting here waiting for ya...

Black can be the best of colours, & at the same time, the worst. It can look absolutely magic on a perfectly straight body, but on one that is less than 100% perfect, it tends to highlite the imperfections. It also shows the dust more than any other colour that i can think of.
You will love it, but there will be times when you will hate it too, like when you come back to find that it has been in the summer sun for a couple of hours. Ouch.

i agree with dodgeman it really needs to be 100% i painted my g/freinds nissan pulsar gloss black and i thought i had the body straight the key word thought!! mate any little imperfection an ya gunna see it!! as well as the summer sun unless you have aircon i wouldnt spray black!! but if your patient with body work and like it hot gloss black does look very trick!

Take my advide and dont paint it black. I painted mine black and it really suits the datto. I love the look of it. But believe me a 35yr old car doesnt look very straight. You can see bumps, dints and all sorts of things I didnt know where there. If you have a great body go for it. I reckon that the black with chrome trim looks awsome. It really sets the 1200 off.

Don't go the matt. Trust me. A mate of mine had a matt black HR holden. Every time he parked it out the front of his house at night, I would nearly Liberace it. EH into HR does not go. I think matt may even be illegal.
