What A series bellhousing do i need to fit Stanza 5 speed guts in to

ive heard that u can fit L16 stanza 5 speed guts into u sunny wagon 4 speed bellhousing. is this true? what has to be done for this 2 work?

nope cant be done you need a 63a box which suits an a series

You could use a 1200 auto bell housing and then make a adapter plate to go between them.

surley there must be another way. i need a box that can easily handle 160hp in a 1000 ute

Just use a 63a transmission for an A14 (from a B210) It can handle 160hp.

dellow engineering make a celica 5 speed conversion

this is what i use

a standard sunny 4 speed will take 160hp if you not ham fisted and run very good oil etc

is there such thing as a gx 4 speed gearbox coz my gear box has gx written on it as if it came out of a car at the wreakers, like a 1200 gx, but i doubt there is any difference to a standard 4 speed

Yes, all Datsun 1200 GX models had a four-speed. They are the same strength as the standard transmission. The gear ratios are different from the regular models if I recall correctly; there are at least three different gear ratio sets for 1200 transmissions. See the chart of 4-speed ratios at the end of 5-speed Overview
